FAQ
As a family oriented practice we provide wellness care for people of all ages including newborns. Our patients seek complementary choices in health care for both acute and chronic problems. Some have been seeing one or more doctors, including specialists, with little or no results. Many healthy people including athletes, in order to sustain optimal health, come regularly for “tune-ups” and nutritional support.
Parents who place great value on the health of their children have them periodically treated to maintain optimal growth and development. Removing neurological interference allows for optimal health and vitality in the growing years.
Although spinal manipulations applied to the neck and back are the primary focus of chiropractic, Dr. Goltl's techniques only use light pressure to correct bone displacements. There are hundreds of chiropractic-based techniques varying among practitioners. Dr. Goltl chooses to use the most gentle, effective, and cutting-edge techniques available.
AK is a non-invasive system that evaluates structural, chemical and mental aspects of health using muscle testing. The results of the muscle testing are confirmed with palpation, orthopedic examinations and neurological testing.
SOT is a method of normalizing the relationship between the foundation of the spine and the top of the spine. It is this relationship and how these two bones get along with one another, that is so important in the normal functioning of the brain and spinal cord.
The perspective from which an acupuncturist views health and sickness hinges on concepts of "energetic balance" and "energetic imbalance." Just as the Western medical doctor monitors the blood flowing through blood vessels and the messages traveling via the nervous system, the acupuncturist assesses the flow and distribution of this "vital energy" within its pathways, known as "meridians and channels". The acupuncturist is able to influence health and sickness by stimulating certain areas along these "meridians".
Since subluxations or bone displacements are caused by an imbalance of muscles or loose ligaments we focus our attention on these tissues. These points are treated by gentle chiropractic methods, which consist of the stimulation or relaxation of muscles and the tightening of ligaments. The balancing of acupuncture points, through digital pressure or electronic stimulation, help to keep these tissues in balance.
This is the most difficult question to answer because each person and each problem is different. Some issues are straightforward and can be resolved in six to ten treatments. Other more complicated or chronic problems may take longer to resolve. These chronic issues can be viewed as fallen dominos in which layers of other issues must be cleared first in order to reach and release the original problem. With patience and persistence optimal health can be achieved.
The best way to know for sure is for you to call your insurance company and ask directly about chiropractic coverage. Dr. Goltl does not participate with any insurance companies, so our specialty services would fall under out of network coverage.
Once again, everybody is different. Most people find our treatments very relaxing. These treatments have very powerful properties which can bring about major energy changes which may result in feelings of tiredness or sleepiness. This is a good sign as it is an indication that your body’s energy is being diverted to the healing process. Some people experience soreness or achiness sometime after the first treatment. Icing, resting and drinking plenty of water, best helps this condition.
It is difficult to describe to someone what a visit to our office is like because the treatment process can vary from patient to patient. We offer brochures that describe and help you better understand the nature of our services. If they have any questions please tell them to call our office for a FREE consultation with Dr. Matt Goltl.
Dr. Goltl received his Doctorate of Chiropractic from Parker College of Chiropractic in Dallas, Texas in 1994. He has had extensive training in, AK, SOT, Acupuncture, Nutrition, Energy Balancing and many other healing techniques.
Approximately once a month is usually sufficient. You wouldn’t expect your car to run for years without periodic check-ups and minor repairs; your body is much the same.
